Basic Math

Each of these workbooks is intended to be taken apart. Students should not be expected to master each level per page. It is suggested that you use these pages in conjunction with worksheets you are currently using in your classroom. It is useful to build file folders for each level so that when a student masters one level, the necessary worksheets for the next level are available.

The critical component in each workbook is the complete task analysis printed in outline form. The assessment included in the workbooks allows the teacher to analyze individual student abilities and determine the level at which individualized instruction should begin. It also gives a hierarchy of tasks on which to build the student's individual skills. These workbooks do not provide techniques to teach the skills, but a sequence which allows students to be individualized according to their level of mastery.
